Starting Counselling

Well done. Simply by reading these lines, you have made a step towards greater well-being.

It takes tremendous strength to admit to oneself that it’s all just too much: the stress at work, the difficulties at home, the feelings of isolation, anger or grief.

And it takes even more courage to reach out to someone and ask for help.

That’s why I am here: to guide you in the process of understanding the issues which have arisen for you, and to facilitate your progress towards overcoming them.

Can Counselling help?

The short answer is yes.

With growing awareness around mental health issues and rising acceptance of  seeking counselling, there is increasing evidence of the benefits of ‘talking therapies’.

Despite some people’s initial scepticism or hesitancy, most find it helpful to speak about their personal issues to a therapist rather than with family or friends. Gaining the objective opinion of someone who is non-judgmental and detached from our daily affairs can open the doors to greater understanding of our life challenges and show new pathways of how to resolve them.

What type of Counselling?

In my work, I apply a Humanistic approach combining Gestalt Therapy, the Person Centred Approach and Transactional Analysis. I believe this eclectic and holistic method offers the most caring and individualised approach to the therapeutic process, allowing us to work together towards resolving whatever issues and challenges you are facing right now.

I work with clients who have experienced the following issues

Anxiety & panic attacks. Depression & low mood. Work stress & burnout. Relationship difficulties & breakdown. Confidence and self-esteem issues. Addiction & substance abuse. Trauma & abuse. Shame & guilt. Chronic illness. Life transitions. Bereavement & grief. Managing major mental illness. Workplace conflict. Personal Growth. Spiritual growth. Cultural identity. Career Issues.
